I replaced my old 720p 42" Samsung DLP for the improved clarity and quality of this fine machine. Others have complained about motion blur (as with any TV, you need to muck with the settings. My only complaint is that I wish I had money for a slightly larger model (but really this one is perfect for my needs). No HD TV will make standard cable look any better.
If you are considering an HDTV, I highly recommend Sharp Aquos (not plain Sharp), Sony Bravia, and the new Samsung lines. I turned off the OPC, black level expansion, and DNR as they weren't doing much in the positive sense. Finally the sound. Go LCD or LED and spring for full 1080p or you will regret it later. It's not bad, but I have a sound system (just an old AIWA stereo with nice speakers) so I don't even use the TV speakers. It's clear, reliable, and makes my Xbox 360 and Blu Rays look incredible.
I found that having them off vastly IMPROVED the picture and completely eliminated any blurring or color bleeding). Trust me, you'll just end up buying a 1080p set later if you buy 720p now. Some people have complained about clarity of cable (duh, if you don't have HD cable, it will look kind of soft. I got used to it until I can afford HD cable).
great bedroom tv the product has a good picture, it blurs a little on fast movement but otherwise i am very happy with it.
I only wish for it price should have more options. My Samsung HDTV is somewhat more advance. Over all good value. Nice HDTV. Good picture.
I would recommend this TV to others, but I'm sure by now they have replaced it with a newer model.
I mush prefer the simple Sony remotes. Most of the time it works, but it's an occasional frustration.* The remote is too big and poorly laid out. It seems like the OPC function that automatically dims the TV in low light sometimes interferes with the Tivo remote.
I don't know what people are talking about.* Generally nice looking TV.Cons:* SD content looks bad, but I don't think it's an issue with this TV. I know it's really popular right now, but it attracts dust, scratches look terrible and I just think it looks generally cheesy. I really wanted to buy a Sony, but the 1080P version was too expensive and when I saw this Sharp 1080P at a super low price, I bit the bullet and bought it.Pros:* Great picture for HD and DVD content.* The sound is great.
I'd much prefer a matt black.* I had a few minor issues with the Tivo remote. Fortunately, I can just use my Tivo remote most of the time. If you enlarge a low resolution picture, then it's going to look bad on any HD TV.
If you're buying an HD TV, plan on upgrading your TV to HD.* I don't like the piano black finish.
